On Our Doorstep

In days gone by the railway came this way, so you can follow the route of the old track which is now a gentle riverside footpath through pretty woodland and even journey through the Victorian railway tunnel built into the hillside across the river from the farm. The river is crossed is a fine stone bridge built in 1841 to span the gorge and there are great views downriver and to the historic woollen mill below.

All of this is just a short walk, but you can easily make a nice relaxing afternoon of it by calling in at the Plas Parke pub at the end of our lane for a well earned drink or a meal on your way back to the farm.
