Action & Adventure

Wild swimming, kayaking, sea fishing and much more besides

From the farm itself you can go wild swimming in the river, or if you have your own kit, then body board/rubber ring over the little section of rapids or canoe/kayak/paddle-board up the gorge as far as Alltcafan Mill & Bridge

Llandysul Paddlers are a 5 minute drive upstream from us and offer a range of guided activities from 1 to 10 on the adrenalin scale! Options including kayaking on the lake, running the white water rapids, longer flat water trips on the river, river swimming, coasteering and rock climbing. Contact them directly to book an adventure with them.

Heritage Canoes are based in Cilgerran (30 mins) at the Wildlife centre and offer family trips in the stunning gorge there and along the wetlands towards Cardigan.

Epic Fishing Trips are based in New Quay (30 mins away), offer a range of sea fishing experiences and are well set-up for families. Depending on the time of year you may catch mackerel, whiting, spurdogs, rays, lesser spotted dog fish, bull huss shark, cod and sea bream. If you like, they will help you prepare your catch ready to bring home for the barbecue. Besides the fishing there’s also a good chance of spotting dolphins, seals and porpoises on the way.

A number of companies offer Dolphin Spotting Trips from New Quay. 30-40 dolphins are resident year-round and in summer this rises to 300-400, so you would be unlucky not to see them. There’s also often quite the range of jellyfish and a variety of other wildlife on show.

Cardigan Bay Water Sports, also in New Quay offer taster sessions in Sailing, Kayaking, Surfing, Stand-Up Paddle-boarding, Windsurfing, Water-skiing, and Powerboat trips. You can also hire paddleboards, kayaks, sailing dinghies or windsurf boards from them.
