Organic Farm Experience
Meet the animals

“ Excellent! ”
Had a great first glamping experience at Henfryn! We stayed in the tent by the river and it was very comfortable. It was great also to be able to bring our dog. I would happily recommend Henfryn if you're thinking of clamping in this neck of the woods.
Cardiffboys
Our glamping site is an integral part of our 46 acre organic farm on the banks of the river Teifi
We deliberately have only a handful of places to stay here, generously spaced out across meadows, orchards and woodland and set to the soothing soundtrack of the river Teifi and the streams that serve it. Henfryn is more than just a place to stay; it’s a chance to become part of our little ecosystem for a while, alongside some very handsome chickens, pigs and plenty of wildlife.
Organic Farming
We’re passionate about farming organically, doing right by the soil so that the land can remain sustainably productive into the future. You will not be sharing the farm with any pesticides, herbicides or GM crops.
Wildflower Meadows
Explore the paths through our wildflower meadow, managed to increase biodiversity and encourage wildlife.
Free Range Large Black Pigs
Large Blacks are the rarest of all native rare breed pigs, with just 300 breeding sows left. At Henfryn, our pedigree herd enjoy a free ranging life with plenty of forage for apples, acorns and hazelnuts. After giving them the best life we possibly can, they provide the most delicious sausages for your barbeque, the bacon for your bacon and egg breakfasts and perhaps also some charcuterie for your picnics. They are extremely lovable animals and enjoy a scratch behind the ears. Just let us know if you would like to help out at feeding time
Henfryn Flock
We are proud of our "extreme range" hens here on the farm. They have the run of the farm in which to live as near natural lives as a chicken can experience in the process of laying eggs for your breakfast.
Heirloom Welsh Fruit Orchards
Feel free to wander around the orchards of old Welsh varieties of apple & pear we have planted here. They are grown on traditional high root stocks to allow for animals to graze beneath. In spring they turn the farm white with blossom and in autumn they are a riot of colour
A Rich Farming Heritage
Henfryn has been a farming concern in one way or another since the early 1600s, much extended in Georgian times and again in the Victorian era. The history of the old farm is still visible in the milking parlour, hayloft, piggery and the old dairy complete with slate sinks for skimming the cream from the milk in order to make butter and cheese. The buildings are all still used as working spaces for the farm as it is in its latest iteration, so much of the history is kept alive
Looking to the Future
Today the farm continues to evolve: having been given over mainly to cattle and sheep in its former life, diversifying into fruit and pigs is a relatively recent change. Soon we will be joined by bees and ducks. Our orchard and soft fruit will start bearing more heavily in coming years for use in an organic juices business. … And last, but not least, we are planting out hop yards and resurrecting from the seed banks near-lost varieties of landrace Welsh barley, wheat and oats to grow and malt on site for use in a very special craft brewery, coming to Henfryn soon!
